About Us

Boy Scout Troop 1519 is chartered by the Hayfield Citizens Association in Fairfax County (south of Alexandria, VA). We meet on most Tuesdays at Faith Fellowship Church.

Our nearest public schools are Hayfield Secondary, Hayfield Elementary, Island Creek Elementary, and Lane Elementary.

Our outdoor activities include camping, hiking, rock climbing, and swimming. We sponsor trips to all three of major National High Adventure Bases: Northern Tier, Philmont, and Sea Base. We also organize trips to local summer camp programs – typically at either the Pipsico and Powhatan Scout reservations.

We provide community service through our Eagle projects as well as monthly newsletter delivery for the Hayfield Community Association, our Adopt a Highway program, and special events such as wreath laying at Arlington Cemetery.

Troop 1519 "Unit Key Three"

Chartering Organization Representative: Sue King

Committee Chair: Jen Beneke

Scoutmaster: George Benecke

Behind every great Scouting unit, district, council, area and region is a committed Key 3. These are the three top individuals within each segment of Scouting - Unit, District, Council, etc.

Like other Key 3s in Scouting, the Unit Key 3 meets regularly to discuss and address unit challenges, checks on Journey to Excellence status, and adjusts program and administrative elements to ensure unit progress toward the Journey to Excellence.
